The Dutch short film Suiker (Sugar) by Jeroen Annokee and Dennis Van De Ven is selected for The NFB Online Competition of Cannes Festival. It’s the first Dutch production to make a chance of winning this year. Suiker is in the running for the price together with nine other selected short films.
The short film Suiker is about Bert, whose scantily dressed female neighbour Klaasje comes by to borrow a cup of sugar. There’s a sexual tension between the two in the classical setting. When the cup slips from her hands and they both try to grab it, destiny strikes.
