Hashtags can be a pain and can indeed stir up quite some commotion. This morning we all got the news; Margaret Thatcher passed away on the age of 87. She was Britain’s first and until now only female prime minister. You could say she had somewhat of a polarizing effect on the world; despised by many, respected by others. But I won’t go too much into politics on here – may she rest in peace.

In a weird occurrence musician and gay icon of all times all of the sudden got involved after people started hastagging #nowthatchersdead. Which many read as ‘Now That Cher’s Dead’ – leading to the confusion of Cher crossing the river. So for all of you fans; Cher is in fact still alive and still looking as young and healthy as she did back in 1979.

I immediately had to think of Britains famous satirical puppet show called Spitting Image, who did several spoofs on Margaret Thatcher as well as Cher. See below:
