The Scolapianta Dish Rack is a perfect example of how to turn waste into use. Mathery, a multidisciplinary studio based in Melbourne, has achieved to put washed dishes into a handy herb and plant waterer by cutting the front legs of a dish tray. The dish rack can rest on small planters and excess water will drain into them and is soaked up by the soil. It works best with herbs and small planters as they require less water and are small enough to let the water trickle down. And … it’s made out of wood, so it has a nice simple, organic aesthetic.

Simple yet smart.
