Photographer Gray Malin lets colour-dyed sheep roam the earth

Gray Malin‘s ‘Dream’ series takes the viewer on a surreal and vivid journey to the meadows of an Australian farm where he photographed a recreation of his imagination from when he first read about a Scottish farmer who coloured the fleece of his flock of sheeps to fend off thieves. The L.A. based photographer used non-toxic vegetable dye to colour the sheep in vibrant hues – after consulting veterinarians and third-generation farmers. The dye can easily be rinsed off with water and each colour allows the sheep to adopt their own personality as Malin describes: “My ‘Dream’ portrays the sheep as individuals – in some instances becoming a rainbow of color. this series represents the individuality of all living things, and highlights the importance of following one’s own personal dreams.”
