This collection by Bea Szenfeld is entirely handmade from paper
These impressive pieces are entirely handmade and in paper by Polish fashion designer Bea Szenfeld for her Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Entitled ‘Haute Papier’ and photographed by Joel Rhodin, the collection plays with organic and non-organic forms. Szenfeld is known for her extravagant silhouettes and shapes, often displaying a breathtaking dynamic structure and oversized proportions. Born in Poland in 1972, the designer has been living in Sweden since childhood and graduated in 2002 from the renowned Beckmans College of Design. In 2003 she gained recognition by winning the popular TV show Fashion House – a Swedish take on Project Runway. Her unique take on retro and secondhand materials won her multiple awards and her wild signature style has been commissioned for artists such as Björk.
This ‘Haute Papier’ collection plays on humor and volume, dressing the models into nude body suits and encasing them in huge paper structures that remind us of teddy bears, bearskins, elephants next to 3D designs and geometrical shapes.Interestingly enough, Szenfeld has not used any form of 3D printing to create this collection but opted for a hands-on approach with a simple cut-and-glue technique.
